Senior In-House Legal Counsel

About the role

Gauvin Group is seeking an experienced, commercially‑minded Senior In‑House Legal Counsel to join its Adelaide head office. Reporting to the CFO and working closely with the executive leadership team, you will provide practical legal advice that drives commercial success across a diverse FMCG and professional haircare portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, negotiate and advise on corporate and commercial contracts.
• Manage intellectual property matters, including trademarks and brand protection.
• Oversee corporate governance, compliance and company secretarial duties.
• Identify and mitigate commercial risk, handle disputes and regulatory issues.
• Provide guidance on property, insurance and employment law matters.
• Support strategic projects, due diligence and M&A activities.
• Lead and mentor the Legal Clerk to ensure an effective legal function.

Required profile

• 5–7+ years of corporate and commercial legal experience, in‑house or private practice.
• Current South Australian practising certificate.
• Strong drafting, negotiation and analytical abilities.
• Commercially astute with a solutions‑focused mindset.
• Proven ability to build trusted relationships with senior executives.
• Experience in FMCG, international commercial matters and intellectual property is a plus.
