Senior HSE Manager – Adelaide

About the role

We are seeking an experienced HSE leader to shape health, safety and environmental strategy for a national energy organisation undergoing rapid growth. Reporting to the Head of HSE & Risk, you will guide a high‑performing team and influence senior decision‑making across a critical infrastructure environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and continuously improve the organisation's HSE operating model.
• Provide governance, assurance and oversight for safety, business continuity, emergency management, incident investigation and environmental programmes.
• Develop and mature HSE management systems, reporting frameworks, critical risk controls and performance metrics.
• Prepare executive and board‑level reports that translate risk data into actionable insights.
• Manage, mentor and grow a team of specialist HSE professionals.
• Ensure compliance with relevant safety, environmental and ISO standards.
• Champion safety‑culture initiatives that increase leadership accountability and employee engagement.
• Oversee injury management and return‑to‑work processes.

Required profile

• Senior leadership experience in high‑risk industries such as energy or utilities.
• Strategic, commercially‑minded mindset with strong technical HSE expertise.
• Proven ability to influence senior leaders and drive cultural change.
• Experience managing teams and delivering results in complex, high‑risk environments.
