Senior HRBP - Capability HR

About the role

A newly created senior People & Culture role in a national firm undergoing significant transformation. You will support the Head of People & Culture as a trusted second-in-command, leading a modern Business Partnering team and driving consistency in HR advice and cyclical activity across five offices. The firm has a CEO, COO and executive leadership model, and the P&C function is being upgraded in sophistication.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop a small team of Advisors and Business Partners.
• Oversee first-line advisory work nationally, ensuring consistent, high-quality advice.
• Coordinate and govern key people cycles such as graduate onboarding, planning sessions, promotions and remuneration.
• Drive national consistency across five offices, working closely with Employee Relations and Policy teams.
• Contribute to HRIS implementation, change management and reporting improvements.
• Support strategic and transformation initiatives, including future business acquisitions.
• Maintain a modest personal client portfolio to stay connected to day-to-day operations.

Required profile

• Strong legal-sector experience and understanding of CPD, the Legal Services Award and the nuances of legal practice.
• Proven people leadership, ideally managing Advisors and Business Partners.
• Confidence with complex employee relations matters and first-line advisory oversight.
• Experience operating nationally across multiple offices.
• Prior experience in a Professional Services environment (not necessarily current).
• Senior HR Business Partner, Lead HR Business Partner or HR Manager level from a smaller Professional Services firm.
