Senior HR Services Officer – Recruitment

About the role

The Department of Education is seeking a Senior Human Resources Services Officer to lead recruitment and selection activities across schools and corporate areas. You will work in a collaborative, fast‑paced environment, providing operational and advisory support to hiring managers, school leaders and HR colleagues.

Key responsibilities

• Manage, triage and escalate recruitment enquiries through shared inboxes and communication channels.
• Coordinate and process advertising requests for school and corporate vacancies.
• Support hiring managers with specialised recruitment requests, offering processing and advisory assistance.
• Review and accurately document recruitment outcomes, ensuring compliance with legislation and departmental policies.
• Provide timely advice on recruitment and selection processes, escalating complex matters when needed.
• Maintain comprehensive records to support recruitment activities and legislative compliance.
• Process exemption and limited‑advertising requests, preparing recommendations for HR consultants.
• Deliver training and day‑to‑day support to new team members, building capability.
• Contribute to continuous‑improvement initiatives and collaborate with HR officers and consultants.

Required profile

• Proven experience providing administrative or operational support in a recruitment, staffing or HR environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with a wide range of stakeholders.
• Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to high‑quality work.
• Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
