Senior Government Relations Advisor

About the role

Equifax, a global leader in data, analytics and information services, is looking for a stand-alone Senior Government Relations Advisor within its Strategy, Growth & Innovation team. You will engage directly with government stakeholders and help shape the regulatory landscape affecting the business. The role can be based in either the North Sydney or Melbourne office.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute a government relations strategy aligned with Equifax's business goals.
• Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key government officials at federal and state levels.
• Monitor and analyse legislative and regulatory reforms and assess their impact on Equifax.
• Advocate for Equifax's position on policy issues and prepare submissions and policy briefs.
• Represent Equifax at industry events, conferences and meetings with government stakeholders.
• Work with Legal, Communications and Business Units to ensure a unified approach, and build coalitions with other organisations.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in government relations, public policy or a related field.
• Bachelor's degree in Political Science, Public Policy, Law or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
• Established network of relationships with government officials and their advisors.
• Experience collaborating with diverse internal and external stakeholders.

Required skills

• Strong understanding of Australian federal and state legislative and regulatory processes.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication, interpersonal and advocacy skills.
• Ability to analyse complex policy issues and develop effective advocacy strategies.
• Negotiation and influencing skills, with the ability to build consensus.
