Senior Geologist – Resources

About the role

Northern Star Resources is hiring a Senior Geologist – Resources for its Subiaco team, reporting to the Principal Geologist – Resources. The role supports major geological projects that advance resources into Life of Mine plans, brings fresh thinking to exploring new opportunities and strengthens the resource pipeline. It sits in the corporate office in Subiaco, Perth, which has more than 400 employees supporting the company's production centres.

Key responsibilities

• Support the geological interpretation, 3D modelling and resource estimation of all assets, ensuring model accuracy and compliance with reporting standards.
• Mentor junior geologists and collaborate with mine planning and exploration teams to support resource growth and development.
• Monitor reconciliation and model performance, contributing to all mine geology and technical functions.
• Ensure technical systems and workflows allow operations geologists to deliver quality interpretation, modelling and estimation.

Required profile

• Degree in Geology from a recognised tertiary institution.
• Experience as a Geologist in a production environment, preferably in both underground and open pit mines.
• Proven competency in orebody interpretation, wireframing and modelling estimation methodologies.
• Good understanding of geostatistical and classical estimation methods and reconciliation processes.
• Eligibility includes a medical, drug and alcohol screening, right to work and a valid Australian national police clearance.

Required skills

• Modelling, geostatistics and estimation software such as Datamine, Leapfrog or Supervisor.
• Orebody interpretation, wireframing and resource estimation.
