Senior Financial Accountant

About the role

A leading financial services business is looking for a Senior Financial Accountant to report to the Finance Manager. The role covers month-end reporting, balance sheet integrity and statutory compliance, with ownership of key month-end activities and support for management reporting, year-end statements and external audit. It also offers exposure to tax compliance, including GST, FBT and payroll tax.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain the accuracy and integrity of the general ledger and balance sheet
• Own month-end activities including journals, accruals and balance sheet reconciliations
• Support monthly management reporting, year-end financial statements and external audit requirements
• Contribute to cash flow forecasting and financial analysis
• Help improve financial controls, enhance systems and automate processes
• Support tax compliance, including GST and BAS preparation, FBT calculations and annual returns, and payroll tax lodgements and reconciliations

Required profile

• Approximately 4-7 years of relevant accounting experience
• Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline
• CA/CPA qualification or progress toward it preferred
• Prior exposure to GST, FBT and payroll tax compliance highly regarded
• Demonstrated experience in month-end close, balance sheet reconciliations, financial reporting and audit support
