Senior Finance Officer

About the role

Anglicare North Queensland Limited, a not-for-profit charity providing place-based human services in North and Far North Queensland, is recruiting a Senior Finance Officer. The role sits within HR and Payroll administration and involves payroll, accounts payable and receivable, reconciliations and financial reporting.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance or a business-related discipline.
• Significant experience in payroll administration, accounts payable/receivable, reconciliations and financial reporting.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, payroll legislation, award interpretation and compliance obligations.
• Experience preparing accurate financial reports, reconciliations and supporting documentation within deadlines, working autonomously and prioritising workloads.
• Effective teamwork, communication and stakeholder engagement, including with managers and staff.
• Commitment to diversity, inclusion and reconciliation, and experience working with First Nations people, organisations and communities.

Required skills

• Financial management systems (Sage preferred)
• Payroll systems (ELMO or Employment Hero preferred)
• Microsoft Office, especially Excel
• Analytical and problem-solving skills, including investigating variances and recommending solutions

Compliance requirements

• Current National Criminal History Check (less than 3 months old)
• Blue Card (QLD working with children card) and LCS2 child safety screening check
• QLD Class C driver's licence or interstate equivalent
