Senior Estimator

About the role

Alfabs Engineering & Services is seeking a Senior Estimator to lead the pricing and risk assessment of complex engineering and construction tenders. You will work closely with Business Development and Engineering teams to develop commercially robust and technically sound submissions for projects ranging from $10M to $40M.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate preparation of detailed, accurate and commercially sound estimates and tender submissions for complex projects.
• Review drawings, specifications and scopes to develop labour, material, plant and subcontractor cost estimates.
• Partner with Business Development to assess new opportunities, contribute to Go/No‑Go decisions and shape tender strategies.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Operations and Construction teams to create practical methodologies, resource plans and delivery strategies.
• Develop subcontract packages, obtain market pricing and critically assess supplier submissions.
• Identify and assess commercial, contractual, technical and delivery risks, including contingencies and exclusions.

Required profile

• 5–7+ years estimating experience in construction, engineering, infrastructure or mining.
• Proven track record delivering detailed estimates for projects valued $10M–$40M.
• Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, project delivery and commercial risk.
• Experience assessing tender opportunities and influencing Go/No‑Go governance.
• Ability to mentor junior estimators and share knowledge within the team.
