Senior Electrical Engineer – Building Services

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead building services design across a diverse portfolio of complex projects. Based in Sydney, you will work with Aurecon’s multidisciplinary team to deliver high‑quality electrical solutions for sectors such as defence, data centres, transport and aviation.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver electrical designs from concept through detailed design and construction support.
• Provide technical leadership on multidisciplinary building projects.
• Coordinate with clients, architects and stakeholders to create practical, innovative solutions.
• Mentor graduate and junior engineers, supporting their professional growth.
• Contribute to bids, proposals and project planning activities.

Required profile

• Strong technical capability with a collaborative mindset.
• Experience delivering multidisciplinary building services projects.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Passion for mentoring and developing engineering talent.
• Chartered status or working towards chartership (desirable).

• Low‑voltage power systems.
• High‑voltage systems (desirable).
• Earthing, bonding and lightning protection.
• Standby generation, UPS and mission‑critical systems.
• Lighting and emergency lighting design.
• Power distribution and reticulation.
