Senior Drafter - Tanks, Silos and Structural Steelwork

About the role

Tank Vision Pty Ltd is looking for a highly skilled Senior Drafter in St Marys, NSW, to cover its drafting output across the full project lifecycle. The drafter holds complete accountability for turning engineering concepts into high-quality, fabrication-ready drawing packages, bridging general arrangement concepts and final manufacturing details while managing several competing priorities under tight deadlines.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and manage comprehensive drawings, plans and designs for tanks, silos, platforms and structural steelwork.
• Create and modify complex mechanical assemblies and large-scale models in SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
• Produce general assembly drawings, detailed construction packages, sheet metal details and Bills of Materials to a strict fabrication-ready standard.
• Manage drawing registers, file libraries and revision controls, and act as a technical checker for drawings produced by other drafters.
• Ensure designs comply with client specifications and relevant Australian Standards (AS1657, AS1210, AS2304, AS4100, AS4600).
• Work with fellow drafters, project managers and the production team to resolve design and fabrication queries quickly.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of proven experience designing and drafting tanks, silos, platforms and structural steelwork.
• Deep practical understanding of structural drafting and sheet metal component limitations so designs are buildable.
• Preferred knowledge of the listed Australian Standards.
• Self-motivated, able to work autonomously and balance short lead times with attention to detail.
• Valid, current Australian driver's licence and a reliable personal vehicle.

Required skills

• Advanced SolidWorks and AutoCAD, including large assembly modelling, custom configurations, drawing templates and accurate BOMs.
• Nice to have: Professional SolidWorks certifications (CSWA or CSWP).
