Senior DevOps Engineer

About the role

The Senior DevOps Engineer will lead the Delivery Team’s cloud infrastructure capability, driving agile delivery practices and ensuring system reliability across the organisation. This role is the technical lead for rolling out a new Point‑of‑Sale (POS) system to new store locations and will own Azure DevOps support for related project activities.

Key responsibilities

• Architect, implement and continuously improve CI/CD pipelines, setting standards and mentoring junior engineers.
• Design and own infrastructure automation strategy using IaC tools such as Terraform, Ansible or CloudFormation.
• Define and implement monitoring, alerting and logging strategies with Prometheus, Grafana and ELK.
• Own cloud environment architecture and management across AWS, Azure and GCP, including on‑prem integrations.
• Partner with developers, QA, IT and business stakeholders to drive delivery outcomes and operational excellence.
• Lead DevSecOps practices, embedding security into infrastructure and deployment pipelines.
• Develop automation frameworks in Bash and Python to drive efficiency at scale.
• Identify systemic bottlenecks and lead resolution of complex performance and reliability issues.

Required profile

• 6+ years of experience in DevOps or Systems Administration with leadership on complex infrastructure projects.
• Strong stakeholder management, mentoring and strategic problem‑solving abilities.
• Proven experience delivering production‑scale containerised solutions.
