Senior Data Analyst – Workforce Planning

About the role

Join the Business Excellence team to drive demand‑based workforce planning across Australia’s largest hospitality network. You will create models that link sales demand to optimal staffing and own analytics for advanced rostering tools.

Key responsibilities

• Perform deep‑dive diagnostics on historic sales and labour data to identify efficiency gaps using advanced statistical analysis.
• Build and maintain venue segmentation frameworks and labour productivity benchmarks, and develop demand‑forecasting models that translate sales drivers into required labour hours.
• Support the discovery phase for advanced workforce‑planning tooling, providing labour modelling, analysis and data access for future‑state solutions.
• Translate analytical findings into clear, actionable insights for venue managers and area managers, fostering data‑led decision‑making.
• Assist finance in estimating and tracking benefit metrics post‑implementation to report progress to executive sponsors.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Economics or a related quantitative field.
• Minimum 5 years of hands‑on experience in data analytics, preferably in workforce management.
• Experience in the hospitality sector and ability to travel to venues to understand operational realities.

Required skills

• Strong SQL skills and data visualisation using Tableau.
• Proficiency with cloud platforms (GCP) and DBT.
• Experience building predictive forecasting models and applying advanced analytics, including AI.
• Familiarity with enterprise scheduling software such as UKG.
