Senior Dams Engineer

About the role

Aurecon is seeking a Senior Dams Engineer to join its Sydney/Newcastle office. You will work across the full dam asset life‑cycle, from site investigations and feasibility studies through design, construction support and operation, while contributing to dam safety management systems.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage dam projects covering investigations, design, analyses, construction support and operation.
• Develop and implement dam safety management systems, including surveillance, safety reviews and risk assessments.
• Build and maintain client relationships, preparing proposals and managing financial and technical aspects of projects.
• Collaborate across multidisciplinary teams to deliver innovative solutions to complex engineering challenges.

Required profile

• Chartered Professional Civil Engineer (preferred) with a civil engineering qualification.
• Extensive dam industry experience and familiarity with ANCOLD and state‑based guidelines.
• Strong communication and technical report writing skills, able to present concepts to diverse clients.
• Proactive attitude towards improving work methods, systems and processes.
