Senior Cyber Security Consultant

About the role

Retrospect Labs is seeking a senior‑level cyber security consultant to lead highly technical exercise engagements. The role is remote‑first and involves designing realistic threat scenarios, facilitating sessions for technical teams and executives, and shaping the company’s exercise capability.

Key responsibilities

• Gather client requirements, translate them into detailed exercise plans and realistic adversary backstories.
• Build technical artefacts such as forensic datasets, memory dumps, logs and packet captures to simulate real‑world incidents.
• Facilitate cyber security exercises for diverse stakeholders, from technical staff to board members.
• Produce post‑exercise reports with actionable recommendations.
• Provide hands‑on technical expertise during incident‑response components of live‑play exercises.
• Mentor junior staff in forensics, incident response methodologies and practical exercise delivery.
• Contribute to scenario creation and continuous improvement of the company’s template content.
• Represent Retrospect Labs in conferences, training sessions and community events.

Required profile

• Significant hands‑on experience in incident response and technical cyber security roles.
• Proven expertise in digital forensics, memory analysis, malware investigation, security operations, penetration testing or threat hunting.
• Ability to work independently, lead client‑facing engagements and communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and executive audiences.
