Senior Cultural Heritage Officer (Temporary, Sunshine Coast)

About the role

All Aspects Recruitment is seeking a Senior Cultural Heritage Officer for a temporary assignment of about 2 years, based on the Sunshine Coast. The role provides guidance and expertise in Indigenous and non-Indigenous cultural heritage to the North Coast Region's Queensland Transport and Roads Investment Program (QTRIP) projects, supporting compliance with cultural heritage management commitments across all project phases and helping implement the relevant legislative and departmental policies.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as Senior Cultural Heritage Officer on multiple project delivery teams, giving cultural heritage advice and management services for regional programs covering planning, design, construction and maintenance of transport infrastructure and associated operations.
• Maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including Traditional Owner groups, and advise them on legislation, policy, procedures and requirements.
• Undertake cultural heritage assessments and prepare reports, management plans and agreements.
• Take part in cultural heritage field work such as surveys, studies, monitoring, project inspections and audits.
• Work collaboratively within the Environment and Cultural Heritage Team.

Required profile

• Degree in archaeology, anthropology, cultural heritage management or an equivalent qualification from an approved tertiary institute (mandatory).
• University education and more than 5 years of experience.
• Current Class C driver's licence and a current White Card, or ability to obtain one.
• High standard of practice through governance and risk management.
• Criminal history check required before appointment due to access to sensitive data.
