Senior Consultant - Tax Advisory

About the role

KPMG is seeking a Senior Consultant to join its Tax Advisory team, supporting private and mid‑market clients across Australia. You will work closely with managers, senior team members and partners to deliver high‑quality tax compliance and advisory services that help clients navigate complex tax legislation.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and lodge income tax returns for companies, trusts, private groups and corporate groups.
• Deliver tax advisory projects covering restructures, M&A, international expansion and other strategic initiatives.
• Support ATO reviews and audits by preparing technical responses and documentation.
• Address key tax issues such as capital gains tax rollovers, tax consolidation, tax loss utilisation, Division 7A, thin capitalisation and global entity considerations.
• Develop and implement tax risk management and governance frameworks for businesses and groups.
• Conduct technical tax research and apply legislation, ATO guidance and case law to client scenarios.
• Ensure accurate, timely delivery of all client work and collaborate with senior leaders to provide integrated outcomes.

• Comfortable preparing client‑ready deliverables, contributing to discussions and presenting to senior leadership.
