Senior Consultant - Systems Engineering (V&V)

About the role

Acmena, a friendly, dynamic engineering and management service provider, is seeking Senior Systems Engineering Consultants specialising in verification and validation (V&V) in Brisbane. Reporting to the QLD State Manager, you will deliver high-quality systems engineering services to clients, take part in the firm's systems engineering community and its Centre of Excellence, and help up-skill the team and inform the wider industry.

Key responsibilities

• Tender, plan and deliver projects, and lead small teams of consultants
• Document user, business, system and design requirements, options analysis and decisions made in progressing to recommended solutions
• Develop systems engineering management plans and reports
• Elicit and manage requirements, including traceability with tools such as DOORS Next
• Develop architecture using Model Based Systems Engineering, supported by tools such as MagicDraw
• Identify and manage interfaces, and carry out verification and validation activities
• Develop configuration and change management processes
• Assist with tender and sales activities and build relationships with existing and potential clients

Required profile

• Seven or more years of systems engineering experience, with a strong customer focus and ability to build long-term client relationships
• Experience interpreting and applying standards such as INCOSE handbook, CENELEC 50126 and IEC 15288
• Experience leading or guiding large project teams on system scope and technical processes
• Five years' experience in the rail industry or another highly regulated industry
• Preferred background in rail, defence, aerospace or medical, and proven application of Model Based Systems Engineering
• Master's degree or professional certification is an advantage

Required skills

• Five years' experience with DOORS/DOORS Next or other requirements management tools
• Full systems engineering lifecycle experience, from requirements definition to commissioning of safety-critical systems
• Demonstrated knowledge of change control management tools and processes
• Technical writing and non-technical presentation skills
• Commercial experience in business development and articulating the value of systems engineering
