Senior Consultant - Energy Lead Advisory

About the role

EY Parthenon is growing its Energy Lead Advisory team in Melbourne, which advises clients on acquisitions, financing and divestment across the M&A lifecycle, from equity and debt raising to bid development and commercial negotiations. The work covers market entry studies for international clients and commercial advisory, spanning established energy markets such as onshore wind and solar to emerging ones like hydrogen.

Key responsibilities

• Advise clients on acquisitions, finance raising and divestments, from single assets to whole companies
• Develop a strong understanding of the Australian Energy Market
• Craft clear, well-structured reports and presentations for different clients and use cases
• Produce and analyse financial models to support debt or equity capital processes and evaluate asset and company value
• Contribute inputs to key legal and commercial documents in a transaction environment
• Work with other advisors such as tax and legal to deliver successful transaction outcomes
• Support business development through marketing materials and high-quality proposals
• Build relationships with clients and industry professionals and give commercial, financial and strategic advice

Required profile

• 3-5 years of relevant industry experience
• Experience in transactions (acquisitions, financing or divestments), the energy sector and financial modelling
• Interest in tackling complex challenges that benefit Australians
• Clear thinking and communication skills, with a knack for quantitative and qualitative analysis
• Proactive, positive attitude and collaborative spirit
