Senior Communications & Events Officer

About the role

This is a 12‑month fixed‑term position supporting the Senior Communications Manager of Mental Health Australia. The role focuses on managing day‑to‑day communications activities, social media, publications and public engagement, while also providing events support for national campaigns such as World Mental Health Day.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee and update the organisation’s social media channels and media relations.
• Produce and edit communications materials, publications and engagement content.
• Coordinate events and assist with the World Mental Health Day public awareness campaign.
• Support the Senior Communications Manager with strategic planning and execution of communication initiatives.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience in communications, media handling and event coordination.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft clear, compelling messages.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a national peak body and manage multiple projects.
• Commitment to mental health advocacy and the values of a not‑for‑profit organisation.
