About the role
Senex Energy is seeking a Senior Communications Advisor to lead internal and external communications from its Brisbane office. Reporting to the General Manager Corporate Affairs, you will shape messaging, manage channels, and support stakeholder relationships to strengthen employee engagement and the company’s reputation.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and deliver integrated communication plans aligned with business objectives, leveraging operational activities, sponsorships and community opportunities.
- Create high‑quality materials such as executive communications, publications, website and social media content, presentations and briefing documents.
- Manage the Senex Energy brand, visual identity and creative assets, working with external suppliers.
- Lead digital communication channels, including the website, social media and internal systems, and continuously improve them.
- Plan and execute employee, community, industry and stakeholder events, including Town Halls, Toolbox Meetings and major corporate events.
- Monitor media activity, identify risks and opportunities, and support media and crisis communication responses.
- Provide strategic communication advice to senior leaders and maintain strong relationships with media, community organisations and external service providers.
Required profile
- Minimum 6 years’ experience in corporate communications, corporate affairs, media relations or stakeholder engagement.
- Tertiary qualification in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing or a related discipline.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to produce clear, accurate and engaging materials for diverse audiences.
- Proven experience partnering with senior leaders and delivering trusted communication advice.
- Excellent project management and ability to juggle multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
- Sound judgement, discretion handling sensitive issues and a collaborative, hands‑on working style.
- Experience in the resources sector is desirable but not essential.
