Senior Commercial Finance Analyst

About the role

Reporting to the Senior Commercial Finance Manager, the Senior Commercial Finance Analyst for Technology, Digital and Data (TDD) will shape the financial narrative of News Corp Australia. You will analyse business performance trends, explain variances, and communicate insights to the TDD Leadership team.

Key responsibilities

• Support strategic decisions through business partnering, business case development and complex ad‑hoc reporting.
• Monitor project performance, track capital expenditure and analyse non‑financial metrics, competitor results and macro‑economic factors.
• Oversee month‑end, forecast and budgeting processes, including salaries, vacancy targeting and project time capitalisation.
• Lead continuous cost‑improvement initiatives and streamline reporting processes.
• Assist Procurement with contract renewals and analyse P&L impacts.
• Guide offshore team members to ensure accurate monthly reporting, vendor cost management and budget maintenance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related field with CA or CPA qualification.
• 5+ years of experience in a similar role, preferably in technology cost management and business case preparation.
• Strong commercial and technical expertise in budgeting and forecasting.
• Excellent communication skills to translate complex financial data for leadership and non‑financial stakeholders.
• Strategic, analytical problem‑solver with a proactive focus on cost‑saving opportunities.
