Senior Cloud DevOps Engineer

About the role

You’ll join the SCATS team – the world’s leading intelligent traffic management system – as it transforms into a modern, cloud‑enabled platform. In this senior position you will shape the future of intelligent transport by designing, automating and optimising secure, scalable cloud environments that support global demand.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design, automation and optimisation of secure, scalable and resilient cloud platforms.
• Build and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions and CI/CD pipelines for reliable software delivery.
• Partner with engineering, architecture, cybersecurity and business stakeholders to deliver cloud‑native solutions.
• Manage and influence stakeholders across a complex matrix environment, balancing priorities and aligning technical decisions.
• Champion automation, observability and DevSecOps practices to improve platform performance and security.
• Provide technical leadership, mentoring and support to ensure high availability and fit‑for‑purpose cloud environments.

Required profile

• Proven experience designing, implementing and supporting enterprise‑scale cloud infrastructure solutions.
• Strong expertise in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation or similar) and CI/CD automation.
• Demonstrated ability to engage and influence stakeholders across multidisciplinary, matrix organisations.
• Hands‑on experience with cloud platforms, build automation tools, scripting languages and software repositories.
• Deep understanding of cloud security, DevSecOps principles, secure coding practices and application security frameworks.
• Excellent communication, problem‑solving and relationship‑management skills.
