Senior Civil & Structural Engineer - Mining Water Infrastructure

About the role

A major mining water infrastructure project needs a Senior Civil & Structural Engineer to drive civil and structural design, supporting future water supply to mine operations. You will lead design development and ensure the engineering service provider's outputs meet quality, schedule and cost targets across water treatment and bulk/distribution reticulation. The work is office-based south of the river, with project-permitted WFH.

Key responsibilities

• Own the civil and structural design basis, criteria and technical assurance for FEL 2, and influence safe, constructible, maintainable solutions across multidisciplinary teams.
• Lead and verify earthworks, drainage, roads, reinforced concrete, structural steel, equipment foundations and pipe support designs.
• Turn geotechnical inputs, site constraints and equipment loads into fit-for-purpose design requirements.
• Manage ESP scopes, deliverables, technical reviews and close-out, and resolve interfaces across process, mechanical, piping, electrical and construction teams.
• Drive option assessments, constructability and design risk reviews, and deliver assured documentation for estimates, approvals and the next project phase.

Required profile

• Tertiary degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, or an equivalent recognised discipline (CPEng, NER, RPEQ).
• Typically 10+ years' relevant experience, with senior discipline responsibility on major capital projects, ideally owner-side assurance experience.
• Strong design and design management capability across water infrastructure, mining, mineral processing or alumina projects.
• Brownfield/greenfield experience with tanks, pump stations, treatment plants and bulk water pipelines.
• Clear technical communication and experience supporting geotechnical investigations, procurement and construction.
• Permanent residency or citizenship within Australia.
