Senior Civil Design Engineer - Sunshine Coast

About the role

Westera Partners is looking for a Senior Civil Design Engineer to join its Sunshine Coast Civil team, based in the new Sippy Downs offices. The role suits someone with at least 7 years of post-graduate experience who wants to lead technical design, manage projects and work directly with clients and stakeholders. Mentoring from industry leaders is offered, and the firm promotes work-life balance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead technical design and manage projects
• Produce and review high-quality technical design documentation and modelling
• Develop competitive and accurate tenders
• Produce contract and technical reports
• Deliver work across land subdivisions, local government infrastructure and urban master planning, stormwater, flood modelling and WSUD, aged care, childcare, education and retirement living, multi-residential, commercial and industrial developments, and civil contract administration
• Provide construction surveillance and reporting for certification

Required profile

• Minimum 7 years' postgraduate experience in civil design, contract administration and project management, ideally with local experience in SEQ
• Bachelor of Civil Engineering recognised by Engineers Australia, with RPEQ, NER or CPEng accreditation (or working toward it)
• Recent experience applying Australian design standards on projects delivered in South East Queensland, with details of local authorities and asset owners
• Valid Australian work rights and a valid Australian driver's licence

Required skills

• Attention to detail in producing and reviewing technical design documentation and modelling
• Understanding of project management fundamentals to meet time, cost and quality objectives
• Well-developed written and verbal communication, and strong client service
