Senior C# Backend Engineer

About the role

Join OpenTable’s Private Dining team in Australia to build the next‑generation event‑management platform for top restaurant groups. You will work on end‑to‑end product development, from concept and prototyping to delivery and customer validation.

Key responsibilities

• Architect, build, and maintain scalable C# .NET backend services and RESTful APIs for the global Private Dining platform.
• Drive end‑to‑end project execution, including technical planning, design, and production deployment.
• Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and designers across international offices to deliver enterprise features.
• Champion engineering excellence using TDD, SOLID principles, and clean‑code practices.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and optimise distributed microservices for reliability and performance.
• Mentor team members and foster an inclusive, collaborative learning environment.

Required profile

• 5+ years of software engineering experience with C# and .NET Core.
• Proven experience building high‑volume RESTful APIs and event‑driven microservices.
• Hands‑on experience with relational or NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Cassandra) and containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Experience leading technical planning and delivering features through CI/CD pipelines.
