Senior Bookkeeper

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Bookkeeper to join a leading financial services firm with multiple locations across Australia. Based in Fortitude Valley, you will become a key member of the Bookkeeping division, enjoying a supportive culture, work‑life balance and hybrid working arrangements.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of clients across diverse industry sectors.
• Assist the Partner with service promotion as needed.
• Prepare Business Activity Statements (BAS) and Instalment Activity Statements (IAS).
• Produce management reports and end‑of‑year work papers.
• Reconcile clients' bank, superannuation, payroll, credit‑card, PayPal and Ezidebit accounts.
• Process payroll, including super, tax and PAYG summaries.
• Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
• Stay current with legislative changes and support their implementation.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies and client regulations.
• Maintain strong client relationships through regular communication.

Required profile

• Accounting qualification – degree or diploma.
• Experience working directly with business owners.
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency with MS Office.
• Strong working knowledge of MYOB, XERO and QuickBooks.
• Familiarity with Tanda and Deputy (desirable).
