Senior BMS Project Engineer

About the role

Johnson Controls is seeking a Senior BMS Engineer to join its NSW Service Team in Macquarie Park. You will deliver engineering and installation solutions for building management and control systems across a diverse portfolio of projects.

Key responsibilities

• Lead development of project design documentation, including point lists, system and equipment schedules, and technical drawings.
• Design, program, test and commission control strategies for Johnson Controls and third‑party BMS solutions.
• Create graphical user interfaces for new and existing installations.
• Troubleshoot complex system and software issues, providing guidance to customers and internal teams.
• Collaborate with Project Managers to ensure scope, profitability and successful delivery.
• Support sales with technical reviews and recommendations during bid stages.
• Mentor junior engineers, technicians and apprentices.

Required profile

• 5+ years experience in Building Management Systems or Controls Engineering.
• Degree in Engineering or related technical discipline.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC controls and building automation technologies.
• Experience delivering commercial building projects, including installation, upgrades and service.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.

Required skills

• Building Management Systems (BMS/BMCS) programming and commissioning.
• HVAC control systems.
• IT infrastructure, networking and server environments.
• Microsoft Office suite – Project, Excel, PowerPoint.
• Graphical user interface development for BMS.
