Senior BIM Architect

About the role

The Senior BIM Architect leads the strategic implementation and delivery of Building Information Modeling (BIM) across complex architectural projects, from concept design through construction and handover. The role combines strong technical mastery with leadership capability, driving automation, mentoring teams and representing the BIM function in client and stakeholder engagements. It is a full-time hybrid position based in Pyrmont, NSW.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end BIM implementation on complex projects from conceptual design through construction and handover.
• Ensure high model accuracy, performance, data integrity and compliance with internal and international BIM standards.
• Mentor, train and give technical guidance to junior BIM architects and modelers.
• Work with Project Managers and Design Leads so BIM deliverables match project objectives, timelines and budgets.
• Integrate parametric design, automation and advanced digital tools such as Rhino + Grasshopper, Revit API and Dynamo.
• Represent the BIM discipline in client meetings, design reviews and stakeholder presentations as the technical authority.
• Define and manage BIM execution strategies, workflows, standards and digital delivery frameworks.
• Lead digital transformation and process optimisation initiatives.
• Oversee clash detection, interdisciplinary coordination and model review across teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture.
• 6-9 years of professional BIM experience in architecture, with demonstrated leadership on large-scale projects.
• Strong architectural design development, detailing, construction documentation and execution knowledge.
• Experience in automation, scripting and parametric design.
• Understanding of global BIM standards, LOD frameworks and digital delivery protocols.
• Client-facing communication, leadership and problem-solving skills; able to manage several large projects in a fast-paced environment.
