Senior Azure Cloud and Automation Engineer (NV1 Clearance)

About the role

Seers Digital is recruiting two Senior Azure Cloud and Automation Engineers to support a federal government client in Canberra. The work involves designing and supporting secure, reliable and efficient cloud platforms, using automation to improve delivery and operations, and solving complex infrastructure challenges alongside experienced technical teams. The position is office-based, with hybrid arrangements subject to hiring manager approval, and requires an active NV1 security clearance before starting.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain Azure infrastructure and platform services using Infrastructure as Code.
• Develop and enhance automation with Azure Bicep, ARM templates, Terraform, PowerShell, Azure CLI and Azure DevOps.
• Build and support CI/CD pipelines for automated testing, deployment and lifecycle management.
• Optimise Azure environments for performance, availability, scalability, security and cost.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, cyber security, development and architecture teams on cloud-native and hybrid solutions.
• Strengthen cloud governance, identity management, monitoring, backup, recovery and resilience.
• Investigate complex platform issues and contribute to on-call support, incident response and service restoration.
• Maintain technical documentation, solution designs and operational procedures, and support on-premises infrastructure and AWS environments where required.

Required profile

• Strong hands-on experience designing, automating and supporting enterprise Azure environments.
• Demonstrated capability in Infrastructure as Code, scripting and cloud automation.
• Experience with Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Sound understanding of cloud security, governance and operational resilience.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to collaborate across technical teams.
• Clear communication and technical documentation skills.
• Experience supporting hybrid infrastructure or AWS environments is beneficial.
