Senior Auditor

About the role

Join Yancoal as a Senior Auditor, based in Sydney CBD with a hybrid working arrangement. You will leverage data analytics, automation and visualisation to influence business outcomes and support effective governance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and execute internal audits across the full audit lifecycle, applying risk‑based approaches and relevant standards (IPPF, COSO, SOX).
• Develop and maintain Risk and Control Matrices, process maps and audit documentation.
• Utilise advanced analytics and automation tools (Power BI, Power Automate, Power Query, Power Apps, Alteryx) to enhance audit effectiveness.
• Maintain audit dashboards, automated controls testing and Computer Assisted Audit Techniques (CAATs) to provide actionable insights.
• Analyse large datasets to identify trends, anomalies and improvement opportunities.
• Assess business processes, data integrity and system controls using SAP and other enterprise systems.
• Partner with stakeholders to understand risks, provide recommendations and monitor remediation actions.
• Contribute to the development of the Internal Audit function and promote a culture of ethics and compliance.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in accounting, finance, business, engineering, ICT, risk management or related discipline.
• Professional qualification such as CA, CPA, CIA, CISA or equivalent engineering qualification with strong internal audit experience.
• Experience in data analytics and/or automation, preferably with certifications in Alteryx, Azure or Power BI.
• Prior audit experience (corporate or consulting) or broad business generalist background.
• Experience in complex industries such as mining, manufacturing, construction or logistics.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and stakeholder engagement skills.
