Senior Audit Manager – Retail Credit

About the role

ANZ is seeking a Senior Audit Manager to lead independent third‑line assurance over Retail Credit Risk. Reporting to the Audit Director – Credit Risk & Models, you will plan and execute complex audit engagements that evaluate governance, risk management and control effectiveness across the retail credit portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Lead high‑risk audit engagements across the Credit Risk Centre of Audit, delivering assurance aligned to the Internal Audit plan.
• Apply retail credit risk judgement to assess governance, risk frameworks, oversight arrangements and control effectiveness.
• Manage audit delivery against timelines and budgets, ensuring resource efficiency and timely escalation of risks.
• Contribute to annual audit planning by providing input on risk themes, regulatory priorities and emerging issues.
• Collaborate with audit teams and business stakeholders to produce high‑quality audit outcomes in line with Global Internal Audit Standards.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in internal audit, preferably within banking or financial services.
• Strong understanding of retail credit risk, governance and control environments.
• Proven ability to manage complex audit projects and lead cross‑functional teams.
• Excellent analytical, communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Relevant professional qualifications (e.g., CA, CPA, CIA) are desirable.
