Senior Associate, Internal Audit

About the role

Grant Thornton Australia is looking for a Senior Associate to join its Internal Audit team within the Risk Consulting practice in Brisbane. You will work on high-profile client assignments and deliver meaningful outcomes, with oversight and guidance from a manager. The team is described as dynamic and fast-growing.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver end-to-end client internal audit and risk consulting engagements.
• Understand clients' risk environments and apply knowledge to deliver practical solutions.
• Manage client interactions and oversee and coach junior resources.
• Handle project administration such as billing and work in progress.
• Work with managers to develop high-quality reports and engagement deliverables.
• Contribute to commercial problem solving through analysis, critical thinking and logical reasoning.
• Present outcomes to clients and internal stakeholders to influence decision-making.

Required profile

• At least 3 years providing internal audit services, in-house or in professional services, with a passion for public sector, higher education, infrastructure and/or for-purpose organisations.
• Strong foundation in internal audit risk and controls and regulatory frameworks.
• Professional qualification such as CA, CIA or another relevant qualification is ideal but not required; candidates currently pursuing one are welcome to apply.
• Able to design and prepare audit documentation, engage with clients and diverse stakeholders, and manage and develop junior staff.

Required skills

• Experience in business risk, business process reviews, internal audit or internal controls.
• Strong analytical skills, listening and questioning techniques, and organisational activities.
• Independent work with a continuous improvement mindset.

The salary range is $90,000 - $95,000 per annum, inclusive of superannuation. The position is listed as hybrid.
