Senior Associate - Internal Audit

About the role

Scyne Advisory's Risk, Programs and Cyber practice supports governments, agencies and not-for-profits in Australia. Its Internal Audit team helps clients improve business processes and controls so executives are confident risks are managed. As a Senior Associate you will lead and conduct internal audit engagements, develop audit plans and work with public purpose clients.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and conduct internal audit engagements covering operational, strategic, compliance and financial risks
• Develop audit plans, lead or perform fieldwork including internal controls testing and report preparation
• Work on multiple client engagement teams and contribute to the national and local team, coaching junior members
• Build client relationships and collaborate with stakeholders to identify risks and improvement opportunities
• Contribute to the development of service offerings and internal tools within Finance, Risk and Cyber
• Deliver high-quality outcomes through hands-on delivery and technical leadership and coaching
• Report and present to senior business stakeholders

Required profile

• Demonstrated internal audit and risk experience, leading engagements or programs, preferably in the public sector or professional services
• Bachelor's degree and relevant professional certifications (e.g. CIA, RMIA, CISA) highly desirable
• Strong project management, problem-solving and written and verbal communication skills
• Team player with a growth mindset, aligned to the company's values

Required skills

• Knowledge of internal control frameworks, risk assessments, risk management and internal audit methodologies
• Ability to prepare and present internal audit and assurance reports
