Senior Associate Engineer – Roads and Highways

About the role

SMEC is seeking a Senior Associate Engineer to lead the delivery of major roads and highways projects for its North Queensland team. You will combine technical expertise with client leadership to shape the future of the Roads & Highways business.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership across large‑scale transport infrastructure projects.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams, monitor performance and ensure project delivery.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and industry partners.
• Identify and secure new business opportunities and contribute to strategic pursuits.
• Drive quality, safety and commercial outcomes across project portfolios.
• Mentor and develop engineering talent throughout the region.
• Represent SMEC as a trusted technical advisor and industry leader.
