Senior ASIC Design Engineer

About the role

An established Australian design services consultancy, headquartered in Adelaide, is looking for an experienced ASIC Design Engineer to join its engineering team. The role covers complex ASIC and digital design projects, from architecture through to implementation and verification, with opportunities to contribute to architecture and RTL design. It is based in Adelaide, Sydney or Melbourne, with fully remote options for engineers elsewhere in Australia; visa sponsorship is not available.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop ASICs for complex digital systems, from architecture through to implementation and verification.
• Contribute to ASIC architecture and microarchitecture development.
• Develop and optimise RTL using Verilog and/or SystemVerilog.
• Work closely with verification and FPGA engineers, and support synthesis, timing analysis and implementation.
• Review designs, develop technical documentation and design specifications, and support integration, debugging and verification.
• Identify and resolve technical design issues, and engage with customers to give technical input throughout projects.

Required profile

• Strong background in ASIC or digital design, with experience developing complex digital systems.
• Ideally experience with ASIC design, RTL development, digital architecture and microarchitecture, and RTL synthesis and timing analysis.
• Experience with ASIC verification and simulation, FPGA development and digital systems.
• Experience with design tools and semiconductor development flows, and working in multidisciplinary engineering teams.
