Senior API Developer

About the role

We are looking for a Senior API Developer to design, build and maintain high‑quality RESTful APIs for our clients in Sydney. You will work within TCS’s sustainability‑focused technology team, delivering Java‑based services that power next‑generation digital solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop RESTful APIs using Java 21, Spring Boot 3.x and OpenAPI 3.0 specifications.
• Author and maintain contract‑first OpenAPI YAML contracts.
• Integrate downstream Mesh services using WebFlux/WebClient (reactive HTTP).
• Write unit tests (JUnit 5, Mockito) and component tests; manage Postman/Newman collections.
• Support Bamboo‑based CI/CD pipelines and ensure code quality through SonarQube compliance.
• Deploy services to the WDP Mesh platform and implement structured and performance logging for observability.
• Maintain up‑to‑date API documentation and developer README files.
• Collaborate with QE leads, Domain Architects and other API teams.

Required profile

• Proven senior‑level experience developing Java APIs in a micro‑services environment.
• Strong understanding of contract‑first API design and reactive programming.
• Hands‑on experience with CI/CD tools, automated testing and code quality platforms.
• Ability to work effectively with cross‑functional technical teams.
