Senior Aeronautical Engineer – Aircraft Structures

About the role

Boeing is seeking a Senior Aeronautical Engineer / Senior Technical Officer (Structures) to support the sustainment of F/A-18F Super Hornet and EA-18G Growler aircraft at RAAF Base Amberley. The role ensures structural integrity, safety and performance throughout the aircraft lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct engineering activities for the F/A-18F Super Hornet and EA-18G Growler maintenance program.
• Develop, validate and review structural designs, load assessments and repair solutions in line with Boeing’s Engineering Management System.
• Perform static strength, durability and fatigue studies using classical techniques and Boeing tools.
• Work towards obtaining Engineering Authority and Delegations.

Required profile

• Hold a tertiary qualification in Mechanical, Structural or Aerospace Engineering.
• Extensive experience in aircraft structural engineering, preferably on F/A-18 platforms.
• Knowledge of Defence Aviation Safety Regulations (DASR) or equivalent CASA, EASA, EMAR certification frameworks.
• Australian citizenship to meet Defence security requirements.

Required skills

• Structural analysis techniques and load assessment methods.
• Repair development and certification processes for aircraft structures.
• Use of Boeing analysis tools for static strength and fatigue evaluation.
• Strong written and verbal communication within multidisciplinary teams.
