Senior Accountant - Private Business & Family Advisory

About the role

Pitcher Partners is seeking a skilled Accountant focused on month-end reporting to join its Private Business Family Advisory division. The successful candidate will act as internal management accountant for a few key clients while also serving the wider division's tax advisory clients, combining management accounting work with exposure to tax advisory.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare payroll, including deductions, redundancies and PAYG withholding declarations for large withholders
• Run month-end processes such as depreciation, prepayments, accruals, intergroup invoices and workpapers to reconcile all accounts
• Prepare business activity statements and payroll tax returns
• Manage clients directly where possible, handling information collection, queries and delivery of month-end accounts

Required profile

• Business or Commerce degree majoring in Accounting
• Completed or currently completing a CA/CPA qualification
• 3 to 5 years' experience in professional services
• Ability to work autonomously, under pressure and in a team, with strong attention to detail and time management
• Ability to tailor services to client needs; candidates without the listed qualifications may still be considered with significant industry experience
• Australian citizenship or a current valid Australian work visa

Required skills

• Solid month-end accounting skills
• Navigating and troubleshooting common client accounting software such as QuickBooks, NetSuite and Xero
• High-level analytical and problem-solving ability
• Strong verbal and written communication
