Senior Accountant

About the role

Maas Group Holdings is looking for a detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join its finance team in Sydney CBD. The role is central to keeping financial reporting accurate and compliant with regulatory standards, managing financial records, preparing reports and giving insights that support strategic decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements and reports in line with applicable regulations and standards.
• Carry out monthly, quarterly and annual account reconciliations to keep ledgers accurate.
• Help prepare budgets and forecasts and provide insight into financial performance.
• Ensure compliance with tax regulations and help prepare tax returns.
• Work with internal teams on financial audits and implement audit recommendations.
• Monitor and analyse financial performance, spotting trends and variances.
• Support and guide junior accounting staff.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• At least 4 years of experience in accounting or finance, preferably in a senior capacity.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices and financial regulations.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, strong attention to detail and effective written and verbal communication.
