Senior Accountant

About the role

A growing financial services firm with 16 offices across NSW, VIC and QLD is hiring a Senior Accountant in Port Macquarie. The business provides accounting, tax, bookkeeping, financial planning and SMSF services and uses modern cloud-based tools. The role focuses on preparing, reviewing and advising clients on their accounts, with close client communication and attention to detail.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review business and individual compliance work, including income tax returns and related schedules
• Support clients with bookkeeping oversight, reconciliation review and review of financial data
• Monitor work quality and ensure deliverables are accurate and on time
• Communicate professionally with clients, clarifying information and answering queries
• Contribute to continuous improvement of processes and use of cloud-based systems

Required profile

• Previous experience in a similar role, working directly with clients
• Tertiary qualification in accounting or a related discipline
• Excellent communication skills and professional manner
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
• Self-motivated, willing to learn quickly, committed to client expectations and timelines
• Nice to have: experience in accounting, tax or bookkeeping; proficiency with cloud accounting tools; experience working with an offshore team
