Senior Accountant

About the role

The Senior Accountant is an experienced technical role responsible for preparing and reviewing accounting and taxation work, supporting client engagements, and contributing to tax planning and advisory opportunities. The role also provides guidance to junior team members and supports offshore teams to ensure high‑quality outcomes and timely delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Undertake direct client contact, gather information for compliance and advisory, and identify tax planning opportunities.
• Prepare and review financial statements, year‑end reconciliations, adjustment journals, and BAS/IAS obligations including GST, PAYG withholding and instalments.
• Maintain complete, review‑ready working files, manage deadlines and lodgement readiness, and flag missing information early.
• Provide clear instructions to offshore preparers, review their output for technical accuracy, and respond to offshore queries.
• Assist with internal training, knowledge sharing and process improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• 4+ years’ experience in business services and taxation within public practice.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related discipline; CPA or CA qualification (or near completion).
• Strong technical capability, high attention to detail, and ability to manage competing priorities.
• Professional communication style and ability to work collaboratively.
