About the role
This senior accountant position is with a chartered accounting firm that is part of the AFR Top 50. The role focuses on monthly closing, forecasting, budgeting, and customer billing, requiring an analytical mindset.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare financial reports, including trial balance and statements of financial performance and position.
- Prepare work papers and files, and analyse financial statements with explanations of key matters.
- Update permanent tax files, identify tax compliance and planning issues, and resolve tax matters.
- Calculate taxable income, reconcile to financial statements, and prepare and finalise tax returns and BAS.
- Complete management account checklist and identify efficiency gains on assignments.
Required profile
- 5+ years of professional accounting experience.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or equivalent.
- CA/CPA qualification preferred.
