Senior Accountant

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Senior Accountant to join MCF Financial Group’s Accounting & Tax team in Fortitude Valley. This autonomous, full‑time position offers a hybrid work model after an initial onboarding period and provides the chance to manage your own client portfolio within a fast‑growing practice.

Key responsibilities

• Manage an independent portfolio of corporate, trust, partnership and individual clients.
• Prepare income tax returns, financial statements and business/instalment activity statements, including optional SMSF work.
• Develop tax projections and deliver proactive tax planning advice.
• Provide strategic tax planning and advisory services to clients.
• Maintain regular communication with clients to build and sustain strong relationships.
• Collaborate with other divisions to ensure high‑level client performance.

Required profile

• Qualified accounting degree.
• 2–3 years experience in an Australian CA or CPA practice.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• CA or CPA qualification (full or part).
• Motivation to take initiative and drive results.

Required skills

• Xero accounting software.
• Microsoft Office suite.
• BGL (optional but advantageous).
