Senior Accountant

About the role

We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join the Finance team of Louis Dreyfus Company. Reporting to the Accounting Manager, you will be responsible for delivering accurate financial reporting for both the business and the Group, while driving continuous improvement of accounting processes.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and reconcile data across financial systems, ensuring accuracy between front‑ and back‑office platforms.
• Deliver timely month‑end, compliance (BAS, FBT, levies) and Group reporting within required deadlines.
• Prepare statutory financial statements and supporting work papers in line with Corporations Law and Australian Accounting Standards (AASB).
• Manage the company’s financial position reports and ensure audit and statutory compliance.
• Collaborate with Group Finance to resolve discrepancies and reconcile differences.
• Assist in the preparation of annual budgets, re‑forecasts and the five‑year business plan.
• Oversee FX exposure and ensure hedging activities comply with Group policy.
• Contribute to the improvement of accounting systems, processes and documentation, and support regional system implementations.

Required profile

• 5–10 years of experience in finance or accounting, preferably in commodities, agribusiness or financial services.
• Deep knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards (AASB) and Australian tax legislation.
• Strong organisational skills with a focus on detail and meeting reporting deadlines.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Proven analytical and problem‑solving capabilities.
• Experience mentoring or supervising junior team members.

Required skills

• Advanced Microsoft Excel.
• SAP HANA (preferred).
• JD Edwards (advantageous).
