Senior Accountant – Finance Manager (Brisbane)

About the role

This senior finance position supports the launch and growth of a defence‑aligned organisation’s Australian operations. Based in Brisbane, the role combines technical accounting with operational finance, offering the chance to shape the finance function from the ground up.

Key responsibilities

• Manage month‑end close and produce accurate financial reports.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and cash‑flow management activities.
• Oversee transactional finance, including accounts payable, accounts receivable and reconciliations.
• Ensure compliance with Australian reporting standards and tax obligations.
• Partner with local and international stakeholders to align finance initiatives.
• Assist in setting up and improving finance processes and systems.
• Provide support for audits and financial governance requirements.

Required profile

• CA/CPA qualified (or equivalent).
• Proven hands‑on finance experience in an SME or fast‑growing business.
• Strong technical accounting and compliance knowledge.
• Ability to work autonomously in a developing environment.
• Eligible to obtain Australian Baseline Security Clearance (essential).
