Senior Accountant – Aged Care Advisory

About the role

William Buck is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join its Business Advisory team, focusing on aged‑care clients. The role blends strong technical accounting capability with client‑facing advisory work in a highly regulated sector.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare accurate financial statements, management accounts and budgets for a portfolio of aged‑care entities.
• Assist clients with tax compliance, audits and year‑end obligations, ensuring adherence to accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
• Support month‑end and year‑end close processes, including reconciliations and ledger maintenance.
• Analyse financial information and provide insights to support decision‑making for aged‑care providers.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships, consistently meeting expectations and service standards.
• Review and delegate work to junior team members, providing coaching and constructive feedback.
• Contribute to process improvements, efficiency initiatives and departmental goal setting.
• Participate in business development activities, networking and firm events to promote cross‑divisional services.

Required profile

• CA or CPA qualified with a degree in Commerce, Accounting or a related discipline.
• Demonstrated experience in a senior accounting or business advisory role.
• Interest or exposure to the aged‑care sector and its regulatory environment.
• Strong technical accounting skills, including financial reporting, tax compliance and general ledger management.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial information clearly.
• Collaborative, proactive and detail‑oriented approach with confidence to mentor others.
