Senior 5-Axis CNC Machinist - Aerospace

About the role

An established aerospace manufacturer in Brisbane is looking for experienced CNC machinists / CNC setter operators to produce complex, high-precision aircraft components for major global aerospace programmes. The work involves modern CNC technology, advanced manufacturing systems and complex precision parts, with opportunities to develop 5-axis machining skills. The employer offers SID visa sponsorship for suitable international candidates.

Key responsibilities

• Set and operate CNC milling and machining centres
• Manufacture complex aerospace components
• Read and work from engineering drawings and 3D CAD models
• Inspect finished parts with precision measuring equipment
• Complete production and quality documentation accurately

Required profile

• Trade qualification or equivalent hands-on machining experience
• 5-axis CNC machining experience
• CNC milling and/or multi-axis machining experience
• Background in aerospace, automotive, motorsport, defence or another high-precision environment
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
• Experience with precision measuring equipment and tight tolerances

Required skills

• CAM programming, ideally Mastercam or CATIA
• Experience with Fanuc, Heidenhain, Celos and Makino Pro controls
• AS9100 and/or ISO9001 quality systems (highly regarded)
