Security Partner – Cyber Security Advisor

About the role

The Security Partner works closely with delivery teams to embed cyber security controls throughout the lifecycle of technology solutions. Acting as a senior security advisor, you will guide engineers, architects and project teams to design secure, pragmatic solutions that align with ANZ’s security standards.

Key responsibilities

• Provide senior security advisory across complex initiatives, influencing design decisions involving multiple systems and integrations.
• Lead security design reviews for high‑ambiguity or high‑complexity projects, identifying systemic risks and appropriate controls.
• Collaborate with solution architects and engineering leads to shape secure architecture across identity, data, network and integration layers.
• Support junior Security Partners in analysing designs and improving security outcomes.
• Evaluate and interpret security risks across end‑to‑end solution designs, communicating exposure and downstream implications.
• Ensure alignment with enterprise security standards and architecture, recommending context‑specific decisions where needed.
• Represent security in governance and risk discussions, articulating risk, trade‑offs and recommended actions.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of security patterns, guidance and practices based on delivery insights.

Required profile

• 8+ years of experience in cybersecurity, engineering or architecture roles.
• Strong experience in security architecture and design.
• Proven ability to advise on secure, pragmatic solutions throughout the project lifecycle.
• Excellent communication skills to articulate risk and influence stakeholders.
