Security Forensics Engineer

About the role

Pepperstone is looking for a Security Forensics Engineer to lead digital forensic investigations across cloud, endpoint, network and SaaS environments. You will work closely with the Security Operations team to detect, investigate and respond to sophisticated cyber incidents.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and support forensic investigations across a modern technology estate.
• Analyse malware, phishing campaigns and adversary techniques.
• Perform root‑cause analysis and produce clear investigation reports for technical and executive audiences.
• Partner with Security Operations on threat hunting and proactive detection.
• Continuously improve forensic processes, playbooks and tooling.

Required profile

• Strong investigative mindset with experience in digital forensics, incident response or cyber investigations.
• Ability to translate technical findings into business‑focused recommendations.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.

Required skills

• Forensic methodologies for Windows, Linux and macOS.
• Experience with cloud environments and SaaS platforms.
• Proficiency with security telemetry, endpoint artefacts, network data and log analysis.
• Knowledge of SIEM technologies and detection engineering concepts.
• Familiarity with attacker tactics, techniques and procedures (MITRE ATT&CK).
